InTouch is an informal, friendly expatriate social group that aims to help English-speaking people and their families to make friends and settle into life in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Welcome to InTouch!
InTouch has something for everybody!
Did you know that InTouch Expats Rotterdam has been around for over 15 years? Set up and run by expat mums and their families. We wanted to recognise all the hard work that has been put in this community by all the previous coordinators and other volunteers and make InTouch a sustainable organisation that will contribute to the home-away-from home feeling. A network of like-minded families not just online but especially offline.
While many of our members are from the Expat community, we also welcome members who are married to Dutch nationals as well as Dutch families who have repatriated back to Holland and miss the buzz of socialising in an international crowd.
We hold a wide variety of events to cater for the needs of all our members, ranging from family BBQ’s and themed parties, regular ladies dinners, coffee mornings and movie nights and a bookclub. Our Culture Club, where we learn about each other's countries, (i.e. Mexican night and Japanese Sushi making) have been particular hits. There are also events just for Lads & Dads!
The little ones are kept busy at InTouch too. We have a very strong mother and baby/toddler group, "Stay&Play", once a week. “Stay & Play" provides a safe environment for young children to play whilst also allowing time for parents to meet each other. We also have regular children’s parties for special occasions like Easter, Halloween and Christmas. After the 2014 summer holiday, more activities and events for school age children are planned……keep an eye on our website for more information…….
InTouch also offers a great business network for small businesses, contractors, self-employed and career-professionals. We also have a selected business listing of companies through members recommendation who can provide personal services and advice in day to day life.
So if you've come to the Rotterdam area with your family or you're trying to meet some other like-minded expats, InTouch has what you are looking for and we look forward to meeting you at one of our events! Join us on Facebook to get InTouch!
On being an Expat
Author: Sarah Johnson
Often there is the assumption that being an expat is a life full of nonstop travel, tourism and sightseeing. InTouch Story Time Once a month, we hold our very popular Story Time at the Rotterdam Central Library. A lovely morning for parents and their children to enjoy a cozy get-together. Also a great opportunity to meet other InTouch members and perhaps arrange play-dates or a mums- and/or dads night out? As we organise our events For You and By You we would like to give more DADs the opportunity to get involved with Story Time. If you would like to read your favourite book at a session please don't be shy and step forward. It is great fun to do and very rewarding to see so many happy faces! You can contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
